On March 13, a difficult decision was made to cancel the 2020 spring seasons for six Wellesley Athletics programs. Along with the cancellation of contests, practices and team events, the seniors in the Class of 2020 will miss the opportunity to celebrate Senior Day with their family, friends, coaches and teammates. Today we recognize Wellesley lacrosse and we hope you will join us in celebrating the spring student-athletes in the Class of 2020. Thank you, Seniors.

Head Coach Lauren Schoenberger on the Class of 2020:

It's a very surreal feeling to be writing this untimely reflection on this group. I could have never seen this coming for my first recruited class. Life can be so unexpected sometimes and it deeply saddens me that this group won't have the chance to play this spring. For that, I am so sorry.

We are incredibly grateful for the hard work, dedication, and competitive spirit that these seniors brought to our team. As a group, they were made strong by their diverse skill sets and perspectives, always finding a way to put their best pieces together to lead our team both on and off the field. As individuals, they masterfully balanced school, work, internships, leadership positions, and athletics with grace. Though their careers were cut short, Marika, Maya, Dee Dee, Sabrina, and Hannah have truly left their mark and it does not go unnoticed.

After working with this group over the years, I have every confidence in their future successes as individuals and as members of society. It has been an honor to coach this class of seniors, and I know that they will continue to make a positive impact everywhere they go.
