Wellesley Lacrosse Welcomes Back Mariana Hernandez as Assistant Coach

WELLESLEY, Mass. – Lauren Schoenberger, Head Lacrosse Coach and PERA Associate Professor of the Practice at Wellesley College has announced the hiring of Mariana Hernandez '19 as Assistant Lacrosse Coach for the Blue. A former four-year lacrosse player for Wellesley, Hernandez returns home to coach alongside her former coach.

As a student-athlete, Hernandez played in 65 career games for the Blue, scoring 13 goals and picking-up 100 ground balls. Hernandez was a Madeleine Albright Institute for Global Affairs Fellow in 2019. In addition to being an Albright Fellow, Hernandez earned the Camellia Student Leadership Award for Balanced Leadership in 2018, and Inclusive Leadership in 2019. Hernandez was also a member of the DEI Task Force and Friends of Athletics National Committee during the 2018-2019 academic year.

Hernandez currently works at edX in Cambridge, Mass. as an Associate Product Manager. She joined edX in late 2021 after working as an Associate Consultant for STEER Partners, a consulting firm in Boston, Mass. from 2019-2020. Hernandez has also maintained her connection to Wellesley and has been a Class Ambassador for the Madeleine Korbel Albright Institute.

Hernandez earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Latin American Studies while at Wellesley.
