WELLESLEY, Mass. -  Junior midfielder Dakota Kelly (Bethany, Conn.) scored the game's only goal with 14:41 remaining in the first half to spur visiting Springfield College to a 1-0 New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) win over Wellesley College soccer on Saturday at the Wellesley Fields Complex.

This victory improves Springfield's overall record to 10-4-3 and 4-5-1 in conference, while Wellesley drops to 7-9-1 overall and 4-5-1 in conference play.

With 14:41 remaining in the first half, Kelly used a cross from first year Gabrielle Fernandes (North Smithfield, R.I.) to score her second goal of the season. Kelly's goal would stand-up as the game-winner.

Wellesley made a late serge to tie, with three shots on goal in the final 20 minutes of play, but Springfield junior goalie, Ciara Boucher (Manchester, Conn.) saved two, while one shot missed wide right. Boucher made four saves in the win, while Wellesley first year Olivia Reckley (Grosse Ile, Mich.) recorded two saves in the setback.

Wellesley had a slight edge in shots in the contest, 8-7, while corner kicks remained even between both squads, 3-3.
