WORCESTER, Mass. -- Senior Olivia Reckley (Grosse Ile, Mass.) made a career-high 16 saves and classmate Deyanira Ibarra (Los Olivos, Calif.) scored her third goal of the season as Wellesley College soccer played to a 1-1 tie with WPI on Saturday morning at Alumni Stadium.

Ibarra and WPI's Leah Beauton (Colchester, Conn.) traded goals in the opening 8:18 of action but neither side found the go-ahead goal over the next 100-plus minutes of action. WPI extends its unbeaten streak to four-straight, improving to 13-3-1 overall and 5-2-1 in conference action. Wellesley is now 4-11-1 on the season (1-7-1 NEWMAC).

Ibarra put the Blue ahead 6:20 into the contest, heading a WPI misclear into the net for her third of the season at 6:20. However, the Engineers responded just under two minutes later when Beauton scored her twelfth of the season, racing past the defense on the left side and firing a shot into the upper left corner at 8:18.

WPI finished the game with a 35-8 advantage in shots and a 13-3 edge in corner kicks. Reckley turned aside 16 of the 17 WPI shots on target to help the Blue extend the game to overtime. Mandy St. Germain (Upton, Mass.) was credited with three saves for WPI. WPI outshot Wellesley, 5-1 in the extra sessions but Reckley turned aside the only attempt on goal.

Both teams continue the NEWMAC season on Tuesday, October 29. Wellesley will play crosstown rival Babson at 3:00 PM and WPI will travel to MIT for a 5:00 PM start.
