The Blue were led by Kendall Lincoln in goal, who earned her second win this season.

First year Marleigh Ausbrooks (Washington, D.C.) and sophomore Carolyn Prestowitz (Truckee, Calif.) each scored a goal to lead Wellesley to a 2-0 victory over Suffolk University. The Blue win its third straight game to improve to 3-0 overall and hand Suffolk (2-1) its first loss of the year.

Coming off the bench Ausbrooks made an immediate impact, nearly scoring two goals in the first half for Wellesley. After multiple opportunities, Ausbrooks finally found the back of the net off a nice dish from Willa McGough (Plainfield, N.H.). It was the second goal of the season scored for Ausbrooks and first assist for McGough.

Just over three minutes into the second half, Prestowitz added to the Blue lead. Junior Eliza Roy (Camden, Maine) found Prestowitz streaking down the box on the left side to set up the goal. Roy tallied her first assist of the year and it marked the first goal of the career for Prestowitz.

Junior Kendall Lincoln (San Diego, Calif.) posted her second shutout on her birthday, facing four shots including three in the second half. Lincoln earned her second win and led the Blue to a third consecutive shutout victory.

The Wellesley defense continued its dominance, allowing just four total shots throughout the contest. First year Mia Voce (Shoreline, Wash.) set the tone for the Blue defense, keeping the Suffolk offense at bay. Goalkeeper Allison Rodrigues (North Andover, Mass.) collected seven saves for Suffolk.

Wellesley hits the road for a non-conference matchup at Mass.-Dartmouth on Saturday, September 11 at 4:00 PM. Suffolk heads back home to take Lesley Saturday, September 11 at 1:00 PM.
