WELLESLEY, Mass. -- On a day with no power on campus, Wellesley College brought the electricity in a big win over the Rams of Framingham State. Thea Feldgoise (Brookline, Mass.), Marleigh Ausbrooks (Washington, D.C.), and Reva Sankhe (Mumbai, India) each scored a goal and junior Eliza Roy (Camden Maine) netted two goals in a 5-1 victory on Thursday afternoon.

With the win, the Blue improved to 5-1-0 overall (2-0-0 NEWMAC) and Framingham State dropped to 2-7-1 overall and remain at 0-2 in the MASCAC.

Just over one minute into the match, the Blue struck first on a goal from junior forward Feldgoise. It was the first of the season for Feldgoise and was set up by first year Carrie Huang (Seattle, Wash.), who earned her first career assist. Five minutes later in the first half, Ausbrooks found the back of the net for the fourth time this season and gave Wellesley a 2-0 lead. The Blue would not be finished adding on in the first half, as Eliza Roy scored off a pass from Danika Heaney (Palo Alto, Calif.) at the 29:40 mark. The Blue would take a comfortable 3-0 lead into the half.

The Rams attacked first in the second half off a goal from first year Cathryn Cooney (Mansfield, MA) that came unassisted. With the game winding down, the Blue found another spark and added two goals just 39 second apart. The first came from Sankhe, her first career goal and was assisted by Roy. Just after the assist, Roy scored on a header off a beautiful pass into the box by first year Abby Couture (Sugar Land, Texas). It marked the first assist of the career for Couture and the Blue went on to win 5-1 over the Rams.

Wellesley finished with a season high 17 shots on goal and allowed just two for Framingham State. Keeper Kendall Lincoln (San Diego, Calif.) recorded one save and improved her record to 4-1. Lauren Park (Richmond, Va.) played the final 12:29 for the Blue at goal and did not face a shot.

Both teams return to conference play on Saturday, October 2. The Blue host Smith College at 1:00 PM. Framingham State will return home for a match with Salem St. at 2:00 PM.
