WELLESLEY, Mass. -- The Blue soccer team ended in a 0-0 draw with Mount Holyoke on a rainy Senior Day on Saturday afternoon.

The tie completed the season for Wellesley, who finished 6-4-4 overall and 2-4-4 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play. Mount Holyoke will finish the season at 2-12-1 overall and 0-9-1 in the conference.

After scoring two goals in the previous match, Marleigh Ausbrooks (Washington, D.C.) nearly put the Blue ahead just 4:44 into the contest but her shot was saved. Classmate Carrie Huang (Seattle, Wash.) fired up a pair of shots in the middle of the first but couldn't convert. In total, Wellesley put up eight shots on goal but Lyon keeper Shannon Breen (Upper Saddle River, N.J.) remained poised and the game went to the break at a 0-0 tie.

Just over three minutes into the second half, junior Eliza Roy (Camden, Maine) fired a shot that said just high and rattled the crossbar. A few minutes later Roy and fellow junior Danika Heaney (Palo Alto, Calif.) each put up a shot that missed high. The Blue found its best opportunity at the 76:13 mark as Liz Zhou (McLean, Va.) headed a shot on goal off a cross. However, Breen shifted to her right and made a last second save to keep the game scoreless. Wellesley would take four more shots in the half but did not prevail as the match was headed to overtime.

In the first overtime, midfielder Jusrin Padam (Lexington, Mass.) had a great look but her attempt was once again saved by Breen. Mount Holyoke's Sarah Forster ( Worcester, Mass.) took a shot that was saved by Blue keeper Kendall Lincoln (San Diego, Calif.) and the first overtime came to an end. Wellesley once again applied all the pressure in the second overtime, as Huang and Paige Sangston (Greenwich, Conn.) took the only shots on goal but were both saved. Shannon Breen ended the game with a career-high 16 saves. The Blue outshot the Lyons 38-3 in the match, but the teams ended in a scoreless tie.
