Wellesley Swimming & Diving Remains in Fifth After Day Two of MIT Invitational

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Wellesley College swimming & diving remains in fifth place with 249 points after day two of the MIT Invitational inside the Zesiger Center pool. 

Tufts University stands in first with 912 points, followed by tournament host MIT with 878 points. Wheaton jumps to third place (460) and RPI in fourth with 326 total points. 

Cecilia Cai (Palo Alto, Calif.) finished in 13th place in the 200 yard fly with a time of 2:10.85. Cai also earned a top-10 finish in the 400 Yard IM, clocking a 4:44.86. 

Sophomore McKaela Glanville (Menlo Park, Calif.) had a solid showing in the 200 Free with a swim of 1:57.32. Teammate Jessica Wegner (Taipei, Taiwan) swam a 1:00.59 in the finals of the 100 Yard Back. JJ Kim ( New Haven, Conn.) and Alice Johnson (Seattle, Wash.) also competed in the 100 Yard Back, swimming a 4:59.32 and 4:56.65 respectively.

In the 400 yard medley relay, the team of Mellany Smith (West Orange, N.J.), Ariana Mitsuoka (Centennial, Co.), Wegner, and Glanville clocked a 4:01.85 which was good for 12th place in the event.

The finale of the MIT Invitational starts tomorrow with prelims at 10:00 AM and final races at 6:00 PM.
