2022-23:

• Opened season with fifth place finish in 50 Y Free against Wheaton (27.85)
• Fourth in both 100 and 200 Y Free against Simmons (58.97, 2:09.36)
• Took fourth in 500 Y Free in meet with Mount Holyoke (6:03.54)
• Personal best in 500 Y Free at MIT Invitational (5:51.89)

2021-22:

• Made first career appearance versus Wheaton on Oct. 30 and swam in three events
• Earned a fifth place finish in the 100 Free and 1000 free versus Simmons on Nov. 6
• Swam a season best 27.85 in the 50 Free and placed fifth against Mount Holyoke

2020-21:

• Did not participate due to Covid-19 Pandemic

Before Wellesley:

• Attended Kapaa High School, and graduated in 2020
• Swam for both a club team and high school team
• Was the 100 Backstroke champion all four years at the KIF island championships

Personal:

• Daughter of Christopher and Melissa Hoesel
• Born on Kauai, Hawaii
• Has one sister, Katy
• Loves to read and has two cats (Loki, Yoda) and two dogs (Stitch and Dancer)

Why Wellesley:

• Chose to attend Wellesley because of the amazing community and academics. As a future science major, it was so important to Maddie to be in an environment where my thoughts and ideas would be taken seriously, and where she could have amazing opportunities for research and mentorship
