On March 13, a difficult decision was made to cancel the 2020 spring seasons for six Wellesley Athletics programs. Along with the cancellation of contests, practices and team events, the seniors in the Class of 2020 will miss the opportunity to celebrate Senior Day with their family, friends, coaches and teammates. Today we recognize Wellesley tennis and we hope you will join us in celebrating the spring student-athletes in the Class of 2020. Thank you, Seniors.

Head Coach Brian Kuscher on the Class of 2020:

This group of seniors, Selina Peng, Tristan Lorich and Korina Hernandez, have been an incredible group of players and people to coach and be around. They arrived on campus four years ago, opening with a big road win over nationally-ranked TCNJ and came full circle to end their careers with an even bigger win over nationally-ranked Brandeis, the first for our program since 2012. Between those two big wins, these seniors helped the Blue make two NEWMAC semifinals and one appearance in the NEWMAC final. They won the very last Seven Sisters Championship over host Vassar in 2019 and have been a nationally ranked team in each year they have been here.

Over the last four years, these seniors helped lead Wellesley Tennis to an impressive 43-27 overall record. They went 31-8 against NEWMAC opponents and an incredible 16-2 against Seven Sisters opponents.  It is clear this group of seniors will have tough shoes to fill. The coaches and players are all going to miss this group tremendously. As good as they are as tennis players, they are even better people. We are all excited to see what the future holds for Selina, Tristan and Korina. From the bottom of our hearts we love you Seniors. Good luck and Go Blue!

A Media Arts and Sciences major from Tampa, Fla., Korina opened her Wellesley career with a NEWMAC All-Conference performance as a first year, earning a spot at No. 6 singles in 2016. She went on to post a 20-6 record in singles as a sophomore and junior, twice earning ITA All-Academic honors before capping her senior year with wins in singles and doubles in Wellesley's final match victory over Brandeis.

A native of New York, N.Y., Tristan will leave Wellesley with a degree in Psychology. Tristan posted seven singles victories as a first year in 2015-16, helping the Blue advance to the NEWMAC semifinals with a victory in the NEWMAC quarterfinals versus Springfield. She went on to add a 5-1 singles record during her sophomore and junior seasons, including a singles victory over Smith in her final collegiate appearance on March 30, 2019.

A NEWMAC All-Conference selection in doubles in 2016 (No. 3) and 2018 (No. 1) and an All-Conference selecton in singles in 2016 (No. 5), the Taichung, Taiwan native has been a consistent contributor in the Blue line-up since her first year, posting 25 singles wins and 39 doubles wins will earning ITA and NEWMAC All-Conference accolades in each year of eligibility. Selina represented the Blue at ITA New England Regionals during the fall of her senior season, winning her opening round match. She will graduate with a degree in Economics and Philosophy.
