Marks All-Region Effort Leads Wellesley Track & Field at DIII New Englands

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. -- Sophomore Ari Marks (Eagle Point, Ore.) finished the 3000m with a PR of 10:04.70 to take fifth place and garner All-Region accolades for Wellesley College track & field at the 2020 Division III New England Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday at Middlebury College's Virtue Fieldhouse.

Each of the top five runners in the 3000m field came in under the previous Virtue Fieldhouse record time of 10:08.10 set by Nicole Zeinstra of MIT in 2016. Brianna Bourne of Williams paced the field with a winning time of 9:55.14. Marks' time currently ranks among the top-30 in the nation in the indoor 3000m. Classmate Maya Bradbury (Freeport, Maine), making her second DIII NE appearance in as many years, finished in 12th place for the Blue with a time of 10:39.15.

In the mile, senior Eva Paradiso (Burlington, Vt.) was fourth in her heat and 12th overall with a time of 5:13.06. Classmate Elizabeth Wegman (East Sandwich, Mass.) followed in 26th place with a time of 5:31.27.

Wellesley will close out the indoor season next Saturday, March 7, at the Tufts Last Chance Qualifier in Medford.
