Four Blue Runners Compete as Ari Marks Wins 3k at New England Championships

WATERVILLE, Maine –  Senior Ari Marks (Eagle Point, Ore.) took home gold in her second event and earned All-Region honors at the 2022 New England DIII Championships with a first place finish in the 3000 meter run.

Marks paced the field with a time of 9:41.73 to set the 3k record at the Colby College indoor track. It marked her second victory of the championships after winning the 5k race on Friday. The next best finisher for the Blue was senior Maya Bradbury (Freeport, Maine) who ran a personal best 10:24.71 to take 14th place. Taking 16th place was junior Claire Anderson (Denver, Colo.) who clocked in at 10:27.27. The final runner for Wellesley was Ellie Murphy-Weise (San Francisco, Calif.) who came in at 10:37.47 and earned 20th place.

Next up, the Blue will compete at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships in Winston-Salem, N.C. on March 11-12.
