Blue Volleyball Earns 2023 USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award

Wellesley College volleyball has earned the 2022-23 United States Marine Corps and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (USMC/AVCA) Team Academic Award. The Blue have now earned the honor for four consecutive seasons.

Prior to the game Wellesley celebrated the contributions of senior TylerBell Smith (Frisco, Texas).

Regis erased a two-set deficit in a 3-2, (19-25, 20-25, 25-19, 25-19, 15-4) victory over Wellesley College volleyball on Wednesday at Dorothy Towne Fieldhouse. First year Kaija Kunze-Hoeg (Eagan, Minn.) had a single-game high 31 digs for the Blue (7-14) while junior Kate Salembier (Sierra Madre, Calif.) and sophomore Jennifer Yu (Shanghai, China) had a combined 29 kills.

First year libero Kaija Kunze-Hoeg (Eagan, Minn.) lead the Blue (6-10) with 23 digs while junior Kate Salembier (Sierra Madre, Calif.) and first year Kennedy Mayo (Long Branch, N.J.) each had 10 kills. Senior Ashley Crowley (Billerica, Mass.) had nine kills for the Owls (6-10) and classmate Shawna Crowley (Billerica, Mass.) had nine digs.
