Wellesley Volleyball Unveils 2022 Schedule

WELLESLEY, Mass. – Wellesley College volleyball and Head Coach Dorothy Webb have released the 2022 volleyball schedule. The schedule features 23 contests, 13 non-conference matches and ten New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) games.

Wellesley opens the regular season on Sept. 2 at the Eastern Nazarene College (ENC) Invitational in Quincy, Mass. The Blue will take on Suffolk on the first day of the tournament before concluding play at ENC on Saturday, Sept. 3.

The Blue will play the first of 12 home matches on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 6:00 PM when they host non-conference Norwich at Dorothy Towne Fieldhouse. A non-conference tri-match at Rivier University will follow, with the Blue facing the host Raiders and Castleton on Sept. 10 in Nashua, N.H.

Wellesley will open the 2022 NEWMAC season on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 7:00 PM with a match-up against crosstown rival Babson College. The match-up with the Beavers is the first of three straight NEWMAC contests for the Blue, as the team will hit the road to take on Springfield on Sept. 17 and MIT on Sept. 20. The NEWMAC will celebrate its 25th year in 2022.

A four-game homestand follows to close out the month of September. Wellesley will host non-conference matches with Keene St. (Sept. 22) and Mass.-Dartmouth (Sept. 24) before taking on Emerson in NEWMAC play on Sept. 27. The Blue will close out the month by hosting New England Col. on Sept. 29.

Wellesley will play at NEWMAC rivals Mount Holyoke (Oct. 1) and Wheaton (Oct. 4) to open the month of October before returning home to host non-conference Westfield St. on Oct. 8 and Coast Guard in NEWMAC play on Oct. 11. The Blue will then play back-to-back road matches at Roger Williams (Oct. 15) and Smith (Oct. 18).

The match at Smith on Tuesday, Oct. 18 is the first in a stretch of three matches in three days for Wellesley. The team will return home to take on non-conference foes Regis (Mass.) on Oct. 19 and Salve Regina on Oct. 20. A NEWMAC contest against Clark on Oct. 25 will conclude a three-game homestand.

Wellesley will play a non-conference match at Brandeis on Oct. 27 before closing out the regular season with a NEWMAC match against WPI on Saturday, Oct. 29.

The 2022 NEWMAC Volleyball Championship will take place Nov. 1-6, 2022.
