Bio

Dorothy Webb has posted a career record of 663-279 (.704 winning percentage) during her 30-year tenure at Wellesley, ranking her among the all-time winningest coaches in NCAA Division III history in both overall victories and winning percentage.

Webb has guided Wellesley volleyball to five NCAA National Quarterfinals and two Final Four appearances. The Blue have won 20 games or more in 19 of Webb's seasons at the helm of the program and have topped the 30-win plateau four times, including the outstanding 1998 season when Wellesley went 37-1 and reached its first Final Four. The Blue have also captured 11 NEWMAC Championships and made 13 trips to the NCAA Tournament since Webb's first season in 1993.

Webb has won the Conference (NEWMAC & NEW8) Coach of the Year honors ten times, most recently in 2019. Webb is also a five-time American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) New England Region Coach of the Year and a three-time NEWVA Coach of the Year. She also serves on the Division III AVCA Coaches Committee.

Prior to coming to Wellesley, Webb served as head coach for one year at Brown University after being an assistant the previous two years. In addition, she spent a year as an assistant coach at Gonzaga University in Washington.

As a player at the University of the Pacific, Webb was a four-year starter and a member of two Division I National Championship teams. Following her collegiate playing career, Webb played professionally for a year with the Portland Spikers in Oregon. In 1994, she was named a first-team All-American at the USVBA Open Nationals. She also played for Team Nike in the Bud Light four-woman pro beach league in 1995.
