The Wellesley College cross country team raced at the Purple Valley Classic, the most competitive Division III meet in the United States on Saturday. Despite resting two of their top five runners, the Blue finished a solid eighth-place at the Williams College event, which featured seven nationally ranked teams. The Blue finished second among the six NEWMAC schools entered in the 19-team event, finishing behind MIT who took fourth overall.

Wellesley College captured the crown at the 2010 UMass Dartmouth Shriners Cross Country Invitational on Saturday afternoon, finishing first among 39 teams in the 5k race. The Blue placed five runners in the top 15, as seven of eight Wellesley varsity competitors recorded personal bests. Wellesley's score of 41 edged out MIT's 45 points for the title.
