The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) has announced the 2016 NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Teams for women's cross country, field hockey, soccer, tennis, and volleyball, and 18 Blue student-athletes have been recognized for their prowess in the classroom.

Senior Edie Sharon (Winchester, Mass.) finished in sixth place to lead Wellesley College cross country to a runner-up performance at the 2016 New England Women’s & Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships on Saturday at Smith College. Wellesley finished as conference runner-up for the eighth consecutive year. MIT took the team title for the 10th year in-a-row.

Host Wellesley College finished with two runners in the top-five to secure the team’s third consecutive Seven Sisters Cross Country championship on Sunday at Nehoiden Golf Course. The title is the twelfth in program history for the Blue.

Marc Boutin Added to Cross Country/Track Coaching Staff

Wellesley College cross country and track & field Head Coach Phil Jennings has announced the hiring of Marc Boutin as an assistant coach of the Blue cross country and track & field programs. Boutin will work with the cross country team in the fall and the distance runners on the track in the spring.

Wellesley College Athletics Fall 2016 schedules, including crew, cross country, field hockey, golf, soccer, tennis and volleyball, are now available on wellesleyblue.com! The 2016-17 season officially gets underway on Thursday, September 1, 2016 when Blue tennis welcomes Division II Stonehill University to campus at 5:00 PM. Blue soccer will play their first match under the guidance of new head coach Missy Price later in the day when they travel to Simmons at 7:00 PM.
