Blue Cross Country Lands Ten On NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team

WESTWOOD, Mass. -- The New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) has announced the 2019 Women's Cross Country Academic All-Conference Team. A total of 88 student-athletes were honored, including ten from the Wellesley College cross country team. 

Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2019 spring semester, achieved second year academic status at their institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.

Senior Keiko Hilmo (Saint Paul, Minn.) leads the group of ten Blue student-athletes that earned the honor for the 2019 season. Hilmo was named to the NEWMAC Women's Cross Country Academic All-Conference Team for the third time in three years. She was joined by fellow seniors Taylor Mahlandt (Ephrata, Pa.), Eva Paradiso (Burlington, Vt.), and Elizabeth Wegman (East Sandwich, Mass.) who each earned the honor for a second time.

Wellesley cross country will compete on Sunday, November 3, at 12:00 PM at the NEWMAC Championship at Franklin Park in Boston.


The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference consists of 11 highly selective institutions committed to academic excellence: Babson College, Clark University, U.S Coast Guard Academy, Emerson College, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mount Holyoke College, Smith College, Springfield College, Wellesley College, Wheaton College, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
