Ari Marks Named USTFCCCA East Region Women's Athlete of the Year
WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Senior Ari Marks (Eagle Point, Ore.) was named the 2021 NCAA DIII Women's Athlete of the Year in the East Region announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday.
Marks capped an undefeated season with a victory at the East Region Championships with a winning time of 21:16.5. Earlier in the season, Marks ran a 21:48.9 to win the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships. Marks also took home the individual crown at the Suffolk Invitational in 21:58.9; the KSC Invitational in 18:06.3; and the UMass Dartmouth Invitational in 17:38.9.
The Wellesley cross country team will compete in the NCAA Championships on Saturday, November 20 in Louisville, Kentucky with the women's race beginning at 12:00 PM.
