LOUISVILLE, Kentucky -- Senior Ari Marks (Eagle Point, Ore.) finishes as the runner-up in the 2021 NCAA Division III National Championship at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Kentucky.

Marks clocked in at 20:28.6, a new personal record, which was good for second place out of 293 runners and earned the sixth All-American honor in program history. Kassie Parker (Guttenberg, Iowa) placed first with a time of 20:11.1. Wellesley finished in 15th place out of 32 schools and Johns Hopkins took home the team National Championship.

All Wellesly runners competing in the National Championship set new personal records in a 6k race. Following the second place finish for Marks, the next top runner for the Blue was Claire Anderson (Denver, Colo.) who ran a 22:24.1 and placed inside the top 100. Senior Maya Bradbury (Freeport, Maine)  ran an impressive 22:24.2 for the Blue. Junior Ellie Murphy-Weise (San Francisco, Calif.) finished at exactly 23:00.0, which was a collegiate 6k best for her. Senior Lily Herold (Athens Ohio) ended with a 23:13.7 and finished just outside of the top 200. Classmate Amy Tao (Hong Kong, China) clocked in at 24:26.4 and rounding out the day for Wellesley was Maddie Carrington (Morris, Minn.) at 24:54.2.
