Blue Golf Sets Program Record 18-Hole Score to Take the Lead at Jekyll Island Women’s Invitational

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – Wellesley College golf had a program low 18-hole score of 299 to take control of first place at the Jekyll Island Women's Invitational on Saturday. First years Sarah Yeh (Danville, Calif.) and Grace Sun (San Diego, Calif.) each carded a 73 (+1). All five team members shot a 78 (+6) or better. 

The Blue lead the 18-team field with a total score of 610 (311-299). Williams sits just one stroke back with a 611 (315-296). Amherst and Redlands are tied for third with a 617.

Yeh and classmate Audrey Wang (Fremont, Calif.) are tied for fourth overall in individual competition with a matching score of 150. As previously mentioned, Yeh shot a 73 on Saturday. Wang carded a 75 (+3).

Sun is now tied for 12th overall with a score of 154 (81-73). First years Sophia Lewis (Ventura, Calif.) (157 - 79-78) and Aileen Du (158 - 80-78) are both in the top-30 out of over 100 student-athletes.

First year Kaurvaki Bajpai (Chantilly, Va.) shot a 78 (+6) playing as an individual. Bajpai is now tied for 50th with a total score of 163 (85-78).

The final round of play commences tomorrow at 8:00 AM.
