Wellesley Track & Field Places Five on CSC Academic All-District Team

WELLESLEY, Mass. - The College Sports Communicators (CSC) released the Academic All-District Women's Track & Field Team on Wednesday. Wellesley College track & field seniors Claire Anderson (Denver, Colo.), Ellie Murphy-Weise (San Francisco, Calif.), and Sally Richardson (Orono, Minn.), junior Taylor Quaye (Redondo Beach, Calif.), and sophomore Erin Dickinson (Omaha, Neb.) all received the honor.

The award is given to athletes who in addition to being impactful on their respective team, have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50, and have achieved second year status at their academic institution.

Anderson set personal bests this season in the 5000 meter and 10000 meter races, earning bronze in the 5000 meter at the NEWMAC Championship and silver in the 10000 meter at the New England DIII Championship. Murphy-Weise PR'd in the 800 meter, 1500 meter, and 3000 meter steeplechase events this year, earning second in the 3000 meter steeplechase at the NEWMAC Championship and fifth in the 3000 meter steeplechase at both the New England DIII Championship and NEICAAA Championships.

Richardson ran a personal best in the 100 meter dash at the Wellesley Tri-Meet against Mount Holyoke and Smith this spring and competed in the 100 meter and 200 meter races at the NEWMAC Championship. Quaye was part of a winning 4x100 meter relay team at the Wellesley Tri-Meet and had PR's in the 100 meter and 200 meter dashes at the NEWMAC Championship. Dickinson won the triple jump and long jump events at the Wellesley Tri-Meet and placed 12th in the long jump at the NEWMAC Championship.
