NEW ORLEANS – Wellesley College track & field has been named an All-Academic Team for the 2023 NCAA Division III Women's Track & Field season by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The Blue finished the year with a 3.6 cumulative team GPA and have earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team accolades in every year since track & field became a varsity sport at Wellesley in 2010-11. The cumulative team GPA of all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility must be at least a 3.1 on a 4.0 scale for a team to qualify.

Wellesley was bolstered by a trio of USTFCCA All-Academic Athletes, as recent graduates Claire Anderson (Denver, Colo.) and Ellie Murphy-Weise (San Francisco, Calif.) and rising sophomore Ella Whinney (Madison, Wis.) each finished the year with a GPA over 3.3 and earned individual USTFCCCA All-Academic recognition thanks to their performances on the track.

Anderson ended the spring ranked 26th nationally in the 10,000m. Murphy-Weise ranked 26th in the nation in the 3000m Steeplechase and Whinney finished eighth in the 3000m Steeplechase at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, earning All-American honors.
