Wellesley Cross Country Earns USTFCCCA 2019 Academic Honors

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced its All-Academic Teams and All-Academic Individuals for the 2019 season and Wellesley College cross country has earned team honors for the sixth consecutive season.

BRUNSWICK, Maine -- Junior Grace Cowles (Yarmouth, Maine) led Wellesley College cross country to a 12th place finish with a time of 22:36.9 at the 2019 NCAA Division III New England Regional Championships on Saturday afternoon at Bowdoin College.

Junior Grace Cowles (Yarmouth, Maine) finished in eighth place to lead Wellesley College cross country to a third place team finish at the 2019 New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships on Saturday at Franklin Park.

Sunday's NEWMAC Championship 6k will begin at 12:00 PM (Frank Poulin).

Wellesley cross country will compete Sunday, November 2, at the 2019 New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. The Men's 8k Championship race will begin at 11:00 AM and will be followed by the Women's 6k Championship at 12:00 PM.

Wellesley earned ten NEWMAC Academic All-Conference selections in 2019.

The New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) has announced the 2019 Women's Cross Country Academic All-Conference Team. A total of 88 student-athletes were honored, including ten from the Wellesley College cross country team.

Junior Grace Cowles (Yarmouth, Maine) finished 41st overall with a 6k PR of 22:33.9 to lead Wellesley College cross country at the Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday at Harkness Memorial State Park.

Junior April Chu was 20th with a 5K PR of 19:11.9 (Frank Poulin).
Wellesley Cross Country Runs to Runner-Up Honors at Keene St. Invitational

Junior Grace Cowles (Yarmouth, Maine) finished in tenth place with a personal record (PR) time of 18:43.9 to lead Wellesley College cross country to a runner-up performance on Saturday morning at the Keene State Invitational.

Wellesley College cross country placed seven of the top-ten runners to win the 2019 University of New England (UNE) Invitational on Saturday at Rotary Park. Junior Grace Cowles (Yarmouth, Maine) was the top Wellesley finisher in 2nd Place with a collegiate 5K PR of 19:07.8.

Senior Eva Paradiso (Burlington, Vt.) finished second overall in 19:11.8 to lead Wellesley College cross country to first place at the 2019 Wellesley Invitational on Friday at Nehoiden golf course.

The Blue will host a race at Nehoiden Golf Course for the third consecutive year in 2019 (Frank Poulin).

Wellesley cross country will host the team's annual season opening Wellesley Invitational on Friday, August 30, at Wellesley's Nehoiden Golf Club. The men's 5k race will begin at 6:15 PM and will be immediately followed by the women's 5k start at 6:40 PM.
