Wellesley Welcomes Paris Lizana as Assistant Director for Facilities and Events

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Ann Dwyer, Associate Director for Facilities and Operations in the Department of Physical Education, Recreation and Athletics at Wellesley College, has announced the hiring of Paris Lizana as Assistant Director for Facilities and Events. Lizana officially joined the Wellesley community on July 5, 2023.

A recent graduate of Springfield College with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management with a minor in YMCA Studies and Social Justice, Lizana joins Wellesley from The St. James, Sports, Health, Fitness and Entertainment Complex in Springfield, Va., where she worked as the Venue Operations Supervisor. At The St. James, Lizana supervised facility set up, break down, equipment management/inventory, minor maintenance, and event management for sport, recreation, and contracted events.

As a student at Springfield College, Lizana served as Recreation Management Staff, a Game Day Operations Assistant and an Assistant Operations Administrator, helping to managing inventory for 29 athletic teams and execute game day operations tasks for soccer, basketball, and volleyball as well as game day set up and ticket sales.

Her experience as a student also included a Hospitality and Facilities Management Internship at the Thompson Facilities Management in Washington, DC and a Diversity and Inclusion Virtual Externship with the United Soccer League as well as a leadership role as President of the Springfield College Black Student Union from 2021-2023.
