Blue Field Hockey Welcomes Morgan Kelley to Coaching Staff

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Julia King, Head Field Hockey Coach and PERA Assistant Professor of the Practice at Wellesley College has announced the hiring of Morgan Kelley as the Blue's Goalkeeper Coach for the 2018 season.

The Milton, Mass. native is a recent graduate of The University of Guelph (Canada), where she was team captain for the Gryphons during the 2017 season. A standout performer in goal, Kelley earned the squad's Most Improved Player award in 2015, following a season in which she appeared in 14 games and allowed just 16 goals while leading the country in wins (8) and shutouts (7). The Gryphons posted double-digit win totals in each of her seasons with the team.

Kelley was also active off the field, volunteering as a coach for high school training camps and teams while also representing her team at the 2016 Girls Got Game Fundraising Gala and leading fundraising campaigns including: a canned goods drive, Cut for the Cure, and Bowl-for-Kids.

The Blue will open the New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) season on Saturday at 2:30 PM at WPI.
