GENEVA, N.Y. — The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) has announced the 2022 NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad with twelve Blue members to earn the honor. In total, over 1,700 student-athletes from 157 Division III institutions have been named to the 2022 NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad. 12 of Wellesley College's field hockey student-athletes received the honor.

The NFHCA National Academic Squad program, sponsored by OPA Winning Teams, honors undergraduate collegiate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year, and were nominated by their NFHCA member coach.

Senior Lindsay Strong (Concord, Mass.) and AK Williams (Greenville, S.C.) received their third consecutive NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad nod to lead the Blue.

Making their second appearance on the list were juniors Jocelyn Andrews (Malvern, Pa.), Kyra Deehr-Lewis (Newtown, Pa.), Alex Lenart (Princeton Junction, N.J.), Cassidy Novello (Scotch Plains, N.J.), and Caitlin Papagelis (Westborough, Mass.). Classmate River Schiff (Potomac, Md.) earned a first appearance on the list.

Also being recognized for the first time were sophomores Penny Juarez (Los Angeles, Calif.), Sara Maniscalco (Manhattan Beach, Calif.), Camille Newman (Manhattan, N.Y.), and Eleanor Wenners (Rye, N.H.).


As a nonprofit organization serving coaches and friends of the game, the NFHCA strives to cultivate and recognize the professional contributions of its membership and to foster and promote the growth of the sport in the United States.
