WELLESLEY, Mass. – Senior Jocelyn Andrews (Malvern, Pa.) and first year Alex Butulis (Raleigh, N.C.) each scored in the fourth quarter to lead Wellesley College field hockey to a 3-1 non-conference victory over Husson University on Saturday afternoon at Butler Stadium.

Both Andrews and Butilis tallied their first career collegiate goals in the Wellesley (3-1) win. For Andrews, the goal broke a 1-1 tie in the fourth, pulling the Blue ahead, 2-1 with 8:25 left in regulation. Later in the fourth, Butilis corralled a pass from senior River Schiff (Potomac, Md.) before shooting the ball between her legs and past Husson (1-1 overall) goalkeeper Kimmi Goddard (Westbrook, Maine) to make the score 3-1.

Wellesley senior Alex Lenart (Princeton Junction, N.J.) scored her second goal of the season in the first quarter to give the Blue an early 1-0 lead. Lenart used a quick touch around a Husson defender to beat the defense before slamming the ball into the cage at 3:53.

Wellesley outshot the Eagles, 7-2 in the first half but Husson only trailed by one at the break, as Goddard made three first half saves. The visitors tied the contest 1:14 into the second half, converting on a penalty corner when senior Teagan Blackie (Old Town, Maine) redirected a drive across the circle from first year Rory McGinley (North Attleboro, Mass.) for her third goal of the season.

The score remained tied until the fourth when Andrews knocked home a rebound after Goddard denied a bid from Schiff. Butulis then put the game out of reach, scoring with 2:15 left to play.

The Blue finished the game with an 18-10 advantage in shots. Husson had the edge in penalty corners, 7-6. Goddard finished the contest with eight saves. Wellesley senior goalkeeper Kyra Deehr-Lewis (Newtown, Pa.) made six saves to earn the win.

Up next, the Blue host Conn. College at 6:30 PM on Tuesday and the Eagles are home against Plymouth State next Saturday at 12:00 PM.
