WELLESLEY, Mass. – A pair of first quarter goals led Wellesley College field hockey to a 3-1 NEWMAC win over rival Mount Holyoke on Friday night at Butler Stadium.

Wellesley senior River Schiff (Potomac, Md.) drove through the arc and ripped a shot past Mount Holyoke's keeper in the second quarter to give the Blue a 3-0 lead going into halftime.

In the dying seconds of the third quarter, senior Laurissa Montigny (Enfield, Conn.) scored a seventh goal of the season for the Lyons (5-4 Overall, 0-2 NEWMAC). Montigny came out of a scramble with the ball and found the right side of the cage as the buzzer sounded.
