WELLESLEY, Mass. – Junior Sara Maniscalco (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) scored two goals for Wellesley College field hockey in a 2-1 non-conference victory over University of New England on Wednesday at Butler Stadium.

After trailing 1-0, Maniscalco tied the game up in second quarter on a hard shot from the right side of the arc off of a pass from classmate Camille Newman (New York, N.Y.).

Maniscalco gave the Blue (6-3 Overall, 2-0 NEWMAC) the lead early in the third quarter on a shot that deflected off of the goalie's pads before rolling into the cage.

Junior Lily Clough (Wells, Maine) scored the lone goal for the Nor'Easters (3-7 Overall) in the second quarter on a shot set up by a penalty corner insert from senior Morgan Mast (Shelburne, Vt.).

UNE took 12 shots to Wellesley's 11 while the Blue had one more penalty corner (8) than the Nor'Easters (7). Wellesley goalkeeper Kyra Deehr-Lewis (Newtown, Pa.) turned back six shots and U. of New England junior Dawn DeWeese-Moss (Pittsfield, Maine) made one save.
