Newman, Wenners Earn NEWMAC Field Hockey All-Conference Accolades

WESTWOOD, Mass. -- Wellesley College field hockey juniors Camille Newman (New York, N.Y.) and Eleanor Wenners (Rye, N.H.) were named to the NEWMAC All-Conference Team on Thursday. Newman earned First Team All-Conference honors while Wenners received Second Team All-Conference recognition.

Newman was a crucial member of the Blue on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball, often starting the attack on offense or recovering into the circle to land a block on defense. Newman helped the Blue back to the NEWMAC Field Hockey Championship Quarterfinals and had a team-leading four assists on the season, including two in a NEWMAC win over Wheaton.

Eleanor Wenners | Jr. | Rye, N.H | NEWMAC Second Team All-Conference

Wenners was a key member of the Blue's defense with her consistent composed presence in the backfield. Wenners ranked third in the NEWMAC with six defensive saves on the season, including defensive saves against Babson, MIT, and two against Springfield.

The 2023 NEWMAC Field Hockey All-Conference Team consisted of a first team of 12 honorees and second team of 11 honorees, as voted on by the 10 head field hockey coaches.
