GENEVA, N.Y. -- On Wednesday, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) revealed the 2023 National Academic Squad. 1783 Division III student-athletes received the honor, including 10 members of Wellesley College field hockey.

The NFHCA National Academic Squad program, sponsored by OPA Winning Teams, celebrates the academic excellence of undergraduate collegiate student-athletes. This prestigious recognition is bestowed upon individuals who have attained a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher through the fall semester of the current academic year, and who have been nominated by their dedicated NFHCA member coaches.

Seniors Jocelyn Andrews (Malvern, Pa.), Kyra Deehr-Lewis (Newtown, Pa.), Alex Lenart (Princeton Junction, N.J.) and Cassidy Novello (Scotch Plains, N.J.) all earned their third consecutive honor. Classmate River Schiff (Potomac, Md.) was named to a second straight National Academic Squad.

Juniors Sara Maniscalco (Manhattan Beach, Calif.), Camille Newman (New York, N.Y.) and Eleanor Wenners (Rye, N.H.) each earned a second accolade. Classmate Maya Benway (Harvard, Mass.) and sophomore Ceci Miller (Lewiston, Maine) were named to their first National Academic Squad.

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is a nonprofit organization serving field hockey coaches and supporters of the game from across the United States. The mission of the organization is to stimulate the professional development of coaching leadership within the sport of field hockey. The NFHCA strives to cultivate and recognize the professional contributions of its membership and to foster and promote the growth of the sport. The NFHCA is responsible for providing a recognizable presence and voice in regard to legislation affecting the sport as well as interscholastic and intercollegiate programs.
