Softball Game vs. Williams Suspended; Blue up 5-0

MEDFORD, Mass. -- Due to unplayable field conditions at Tufts University, the Wellesley College softball game vs. Williams College was suspended in the top of the fifth inning with the Blue leading the Ephs, 5-0. No make-up date has been announced, but the game will pick up where it left off if the game is made up.

Wellesley scored two runs in the top of the second, one in the third and another pair of runs in the fourth to open up a 5-0 advantage before the game was called. 

In the second, Mara Blesoff's one out walk came around to score on a deep single from Jayne Ellis. Ellis later scored on Eph error to make it 2-0 Wellesley. The Blue pushed another one across in the third, as Brittany Bakacs got on with a single and was knocked home on a basehit from Sara Del Balzo.

In the top of fourth, Lauren Goldfarb singled and was driven in by a basehit from Megan Townsend. Rachel Harris scored the other run for the Blue, coming home on a wild pitch.

Wellesley also got a solid performance from Lindsay Johnson, who threw all four shutout innings for the Blue, allowing only two hits while walking one and striking out two.
