Blue Softball Drops a Pair in Florida

CLERMONT, Fla. - The Wellesley College softball team dropped a pair of games at the National Training Center's Hancock Field on Tuesday afternoon.

Coming off a late night game, the Blue dropped a 5-0 morning contest to Manchester and then fell to the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, 7-1 in their second game of the day.

Wellesley was unable to muster up any offense against Manchester, collecting just two hits. The Blue got singles from Samantha Spiga and Kimberly Cabral pacing the offense.

Against Wisconsin-Platteville, Mariah Philips, Abby Casey and Lauren Goldfarb recorded the only hits for the Blue.

Wellesley will have the day off on Wednesday and will return to the diamond to play two games on Thursday.
