Blue Softball Drops Two on Spring Break

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- The Wellesley College softball team suffered two losses on Thursday on their spring break trip to the National Training Center in Clermont, Fla. The Blue fell at the hands of Elmhurst, 4-1, and then lost to Kean, 5-4.

In the day's opener, the Blue scattered five hits, including an RBI double from Lauren Goldfarb. Other hitters for Wellesley included Kimberly Cabral, Mara Blesoff, Maria LaBouyer and Phoebe Walsh-Costello who all picked up singles in the loss.

Against Kean, Wellesley fell behind 5-0, before rallying for four runs in the top of the sixth. Down by one, the Blue couldn't complete the comeback and fell, 5-4.

Jayne Ellis picked up two hits against Kean, including a double. Blesoff, Goldfarb, Abby Casey and Mariah Philips each added singles in the defeat. 

The Blue will play two more on Friday, battling #14 Wisconsin Eau Claire and #25 St. Thomas.
