Bresee was one of three Wellesley players with multiple RBIs in the contest, as juniors Ashtyn Coleman (Scottsdale, Ariz.) and Anna Pisac (Snohomish, Wash.) each drove in four runs, respectively. Coast Guard rallied for a pair in the bottom of the second, making the score 3-2 when Hogan doubled to score first year Sharayah Simco (Florence, Ky.) and Hvozdovich singled to score Hogan.

The game advanced to the top of the sixth inning before Wellesley broke open the contest with a seven run outburst. Kendra Coleman (Scottsdale, Ariz.) started the rally with an RBI single. Sophomore Julia Warner (Kenmore, Wash.) capped the rally with an RBI single.

Sophomore Madeline Bianchi (6-3) went seven innings giving up three runs, all earned, on seven hits, while striking out one and walking three. Senior Sarah Sorensen (Lakewood, Wash.) was charged with the loss (3-10) after giving up 10 runs, six earned, on 13 hits in 5.1 innings pitched.

The Blue added two more in the top of the fourth inning, with Manning recording an RBI single before coming around to score on and Ashtyn Coleman RBI groundout.

The Bears cut the deficit to 6-4 in the bottom of the fifth. The hosts clawed back to within two thanks to a two-run double from Hvozdovich and RBI hits from Short and Cruzpino.
