Blue Softball Places Four on 25 Year All-NEWMAC Team

WESTWOOD, Mass. - The NEWMAC released the Softball 25 Year All-NEWMAC Team in recognition of the historic 25th Anniversary season. A total of 30 student-athletes have been recognized from the last 25 years, including former Wellesley College softball student-athletes Jenna Harvey '08, Megan Wood '10, Lauren Goldfarb '13, and Carly Bresee '16. The honored team was voted on by the NEWMAC membership.

Harvey was a NFCA All-American in 2007 and 2008, a three-time NFCA All-Region member, a two-time NEISCA Player of the Year, made the NCAA Regional All-Tournament Team in 2007 and 2008, and was the 2008 ECAC Pitcher of the Year. Harvey's NEWMAC accolades include being the 2007 and 2008 NEWMAC Athlete of the Year, two NEWMAC Pitcher of the Year awards, three appearances on the NEWMAC All-Conference First Team and two trips to the NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team. Harvey is Wellesley softball's all-time leader in wins (49), innings pitched (490.2), and strikeouts (768). She threw one perfect game and five no-hitters as a member of the Blue.

Wood was a four-time member of the NFCA All-Region Team, a two-time NEWMAC All-Conference First Team member, a two-time NEWMAC All-Conference Second Team honoree, and received CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team honors in 2010. Wood's career batting average (.373), slugging percentage (.574), hits (163), runs scored (94), and runs batted in (104) are among the top-five in Wellesley softball program history and she sits second all-time in home runs (17).

Goldfarb was a 2011 NFCA All-American, a three-time NFCA All-Region member, and made the NEWMAC All-Conference First Team in 2011, 2012, and 2013. Goldfarb earned two CoSIDA Academic All-America Third Team distinctions, was a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team honoree, and was a three-time NEWMAC Academic All-Conference recipient. She is the all-time hits leader in Wellesley softball program history with 169, and ranks third all-time in doubles (37), and fourth all-time in batting average (.386).

Bresee had three appearances on the NFCA All-Region Team and was a member of the 2015 NCAA Regional All-Tournament Team. She was the 2013 NEWMAC Rookie of the Year and made two NEWMAC All-Conference First Teams as well as a NEWMAC All-Conference Second Team. Bresee was a 2015 NFCA Academic All-Region recipient and earned a pair of trips to the NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team. Bresee is third all-time in Wellesley softball program history in batting average (.413) and on-base percentage (.450) and is tied for the most runs scored in a single season (41).
