Blue Basketball Holds Breast Cancer Fundraiser Feb. 13th

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- The Wellesley College basketball team will be taking part in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's (WBCA) "Play4Kay" initiative on Wednesday, February 13th.

The Blue will take on Coast Guard in a 7:00 pm game that will also serve as a fundraiser for breast cancer research. At the game, team members will be wearing pink socks and will warm-up in pink Wellesley Athletics t-shirts.

Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game and make a donation. In addition, pink Wellesley athletics t-shirts will be available for sale at the game for $15.

The goal of the WBCA's "Play 4Kay" is to raise awareness of breast cancer awareness around the country.  Funds raised at the game will benefit the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer fund which was established under The V Foundation in 2007. Coach Yow, a member of the Naismith Hall of Fame, lost her battle with breast cancer in 2009.
