WELLESLEY, Mass. — For the second consecutive year, Wellesley College basketball teamed up with Let's Get Movin', a lifestyle-change program for children and teens that promotes physical activity, teaches proper nutrition, and helps young people make healthier lifestyle choices.

During winer break, the Wellesley basketball team took part in the program, in affiliation with the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center, at the Paris St. Community Center in East Boston. The team became involved with the program with the help of alumna Malia Maier '13, an employee at the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center.

The Blue focused on teaching both fitness and basketball, leading the children participating in fitness activities, such as push-ups and squats. The team also took some time to teach the game of basketball, going over the individual skills of the game, including dribbling and shooting.

In addition to programs for children, Let's get Movin' also offers after-school and summer programs, field trips, community events, and cooking classes and educational seminars for adults who want to learn more about supporting their children's healthier lifestyles.
