Wellesley's Aguirre Named NEWMAC Basketball Offensive Athlete of the Week

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College basketball junior Caitlin Aguirre (El Paso, Texas) has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Basketball Co-Offensive Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 18, 2018. 

Aguirre averaged 19 points/game over two games to lead the Blue to the championship at the 21st Annual USJ-Tip-Off Tournament. Aguirre scored 20 points, adding five rebounds and three assists in a 68-55 win over Fitchburg St. on Friday. She then added 18 points, six rebounds and five assists to lead the Blue past the host Blue Jays, 53-30, in the championship game on Saturday. Aguirre was named to the All-Tournament team and as the Tournament MVP.

Aguirre and the Blue (2-0) return to action on Tuesday night at 7:00 PM with a non-conference game at Simmons.
