Blue Crew Ranked 4th in the Nation!

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- The Wellesley College crew team picked up a fourth place national ranking in the first Division III CRCA/USRowing Coaches Poll of the season.

The Blue sit behind only Williams College, the 2010 NCAA Champions, and Ithaca College and Bates College, two top-four teams at the 2010 Championship. Wellesley leads a strong NEWMAC field in the poll, ranking ahead of conference-rivals Smith (9th), Mount Holyoke (10th), Coast Guard (11th), and WPI (12th).

Led by captains, seniors Casey Sedlack and Hannah Woodruff, and junior Shernaz DossabhoyWellesley recently opened the spring portion of the season with a sweep over Washington College, who also received votes in the national poll.

Looking ahead, the Blue have a full spring schedule, including the NEWMAC Championships on April 16th, the New England Championships on April 30th and the ECAC Championships on May 8th. Wellesley will look to solidify a repeat trip to the NCAA Championships in late May.

The Blue enjoyed a successful fall season, taking the 2010 Seven Sisters Championship and also placed fourth at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta. The Blue also added second place finishes at the Textile River Regatta and the Quinsigamond Snake Regatta.
