UPDATED: Blue Crew Opens 2015 NCAA Championships on Friday

WELLESLEY, Mass. — New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Champion Wellesley College crew will compete at the 2015 NCAA Division III Rowing Championships on Friday and Saturday, May 29-30, at the Sacramento State Aquatic Center on Lake Natoma in Gold River, California. 

Wellesley used a solid spring campaign to cement its place at the National Championships for the sixth consecutive season. The Blue won the NEWMAC Championship for the fifth consecutive spring, garnering the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Championships. This spring, Wellesley also earned its best New England Rowing Championships (NERC) result in school history, taking third place in the overall points trophy standings. The Blue then closed out the regular season with a fourth place finish in the women's point trophy standings at the 2015 ECAC National Invitational Collegiate Regatta. At both the NERC and ECAC Invitational, every Wellesley entry qualified for the Grand Final. 

The Sacramento State Aquatic Center is one of the best venues for spectators in the country. The spectator area is separate from the student-athlete area. There is great viewing of the race course complete with a Jumbotron screen with a live video feed from the launches following races.

Tickets for the 2015 NCAA Division I, II, and III Women's Rowing Championships are on sale to the general public. All-session and single-session adult and student/senior tickets can be purchased online through the NCAA by visiting www.NCAA.com/tickets or by using the link above. All-session tickets are $40 and all-session student/senior tickets are available for $25. Single-session tickets are available for $15 and single-session student/senior tickets are $10. 8:50 AM PDT (11:50 AM EDT): Varsity Eight heats (Wellesley is in Lane 3, Winner & Runner-up advance to Grand Final, 3 and 4 to Repechage)
3:30 PM PDT (6:30 PM EDT): Second Varsity Repechage (if necessary)
