WELLESLEY, Mass. -- The Wellesley College crew Varsity 8+ has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Boat of the Week for the week ending April 16, 2018. 

The crew, consisting of senior coxswain Sydney Stento (Boise, Idaho), junior Emilia Ball (Albany, N.Y.), first year Zoe Cheng (Orinda, Calif.); sophomore Frances Dingivan (Salt Lake City, Utah); senior Lauren Bazley (Issaquah, Wash.); sophomore Rhiannon Mulligan (Santa Cruz, Calif.); senior Kelsey Campbell (Broomfield, Colo.); junior Jocelyn Reahl (Portland, Ore.) and junior Katie Livingston (Wellesley, Mass.) posted the second fastest time of the day on Saturday in a series of double duals with nationally-ranked Bates, Wesleyan and Tufts. Despite a 6:53.96 to 7:00.46 setback against Bates in their opening race, the Blue V8+ cruised past Tufts, 7:02.77 to 7:06.75, in a third place match-up. Wellesley's time of 7:02.77 was the second best of the day, as Wesleyan finished in 7:03.63 in their match-up with Bates.

Wellesley crew will be aiming to bring home for the program's eighth consecutive NEWMAC title in their next race on Saturday, April 28th.
