Wellesley Crew Competes Sunday at 54th Head Of The Charles Regatta
WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College crew will compete at the 54th Annual Head Of The Charles Regatta (HOCR) on Sunday, October 21, on the Charles River in Boston.
Founded in 1965, the HOCR is a two-day rowing event featuring many of the top rowers, teams and clubs from around the world. This year's event will take place Saturday and Sunday, October 20 and 21, 2018, with Wellesley set to compete in the Women's Collegiate 8+ on Sunday afternoon at 2:41 PM.
The Blue have two entries in the Women's Collegiate 8+ event for the fourth consecutive year. Wellesley's Varsity Eight Crew, or Wellesley A, will compete with bow number 13, while Wellesley's Second Varsity Eight, or Wellesley B, will compete with bow number 26. Last year, Wellesley finished 14th and 20th overall. Wellesley 'A' finished the course in 17:04.267 to take 14th, while Wellesley 'B' took 20th with a time of 17:41.462.
