Wellesley Crew Set to Compete at the 2021 Head Of The Charles Regatta

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- The Wellesley College crew team will compete at the 2021 Head Of The Charles Regatta (HOCR) on Sunday, October 24, on the Charles River in Boston.

Founded in 1965, the HOCR is a three-day rowing event featuring many of the top rowers, teams and clubs from around the world. This year's event will take place from Friday-Sunday, October 22-24, 2021. Wellesley will compete in the Women's Collegiate Eights and Women's Collegiate Fours on Sunday afternoon starting at 2:39 PM.

The Blue will send two entries in the Women's Collegiate 8+ for the sixth consecutive year. Wellesley's Varsity Eight Crew, or Wellesley A, will compete with bow number 2, while the Second Varsity Eight, or Wellesley B, will compete with bow number 19. In 2019, the Varsity Eight took runner-up on the Charles River with a time of 16:47.200, which was the best finish in program history.
