WELLESLEY, Mass. – Wellesley College crew senior Cora Barrett (Tewksbury, Mass.) has been named to the 2022-23 Academic All-America Women's At-Large First Team, as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC).

Barrett, a Physics and Mathematics major with a 4.0 GPA, was a member of this year's NCAA Division III National Championship winning team, rowing in the second varsity eight that finished second. Barrett is the second Wellesley rowing student-athlete to be named Academic All-America (Tasha Teutsch '02, 2002 Second Team Academic All-America) and just the second Wellesley student-athlete to receive First Team Academic All-America honors, joining soccer standout and Wellesley Athletics Hall of Famer Sarah Hilgenberg '00 who earned the honor in 2000. Barrett is the first Academic All-America selection for Wellesley since Maura Sticco-Ivins received Second Team Academic All-America in 2017.

At the NCAA Championships in Pennsauken, N.J., Barrett was also named the NCAA Elite 90 winner for Division III Rowing, recognizing the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA's 90 championships. Barrett was the first Wellesley College student-athlete to ever receive the NCAA Elite 90 Award. Also a member of Wellesley's 2022 NCAA National Championship team, Barrett was a two-time NEWMAC champion who earned 2023 CSC Academic All-District honors, 2022 Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Scholar-Athlete honors and was a three-time member of the NEWMAC NEWMAC Rowing Academic All-Conference Team (2021, 2022, 2023) during her career.

College Sports Communicators began the distinguished Academic All-America® program in 1952, and since then, has honored more than 38,000 deserving student-athletes from numerous sports across all divisions with these elite Academic All-America scholar-athlete honors.
