Wellesley Crew in Action this Weekend at the 2023 Head Of The Charles Regatta

WELLESLEY, Mass. – The Wellesley College crew team will compete at the 2023 Head Of The Charles Regatta (HOCR) on Sunday, October 22, on the Charles River in Boston.

Founded in 1965, the HOCR is a three-day rowing event featuring many of the top rowers, teams and clubs from around the world. This year's event will take place from Friday-Sunday, October 20-22, 2023. Wellesley will compete in the Women's Collegiate Eights on Sunday afternoon starting at 2:51 PM and the Women's Collegiate Fours on Sunday afternoon starting at 3:23 PM.

The Blue will have two entries in the Women's Collegiate 8+ on Sunday. Wellesley's Varsity Eight Crew, or Wellesley A, will compete with bow number 2, and the Second Varsity Eight, or Wellesley B, will compete with bow number 8. Wellesley has two entires in the Women's Collegiate 4+ on Sunday. The Varsity Four Crew, or Wellesley A will compete in bow 38, and the Second Varsity Four, or Wellesley B, will compete in bow 27.

In 2019, 2021, and 2022 the Varsity Eight took runner-up on the Charles River. In 2022, the Varsity Eight set a record for the best time in program history with a time of 16:40.742.
