Wellesley Crew Places Fourth in V8+, 2V8+ at Lake Quinsigamond

WORCESTER, Mass. – Wellesley College crew finished fourth in the Grand Final of the Varsity Eight (V8+) and Second Varsity Eight (2V8) races on Sunday morning at Lake Quinsigamond.

Blue Crew's V8+ earned second in the opening race with a time of 7:27.68 to qualify for the Grand Final. The V8+ claimed fourth in the Grand Final with a time of 7:35.91. Trinity captured gold with a winning performance of 7:25.25.

Wellesley repeated the second place performance in the opening round of the 2V8+ event. The Blue finished with a time of 7:41.69, within three seconds of first place Bates. In the Grand Final, the 2V8+ placed fourth with a final time of 7:56.05.

In the Third Varsity Eight (3V8+) race, Wellesley took third out of six boats. The Blue edged out fourth place Bates with a time of 7:48.47. Hamilton won the race with a winning time of 7:36.93.

Wellesley's Fourth Varsity Eight (V8+) stroked a winning time of 8:19.50 to defeat Tufts in the Fourth Varsity Eight event.

Blue Crew returns to Lake Quinsigamond on Saturday, April 27 for the NEWMAC Championships.
