Blue Golf Concludes Spring Break Invite at ChampionsGate

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Wellesley College golf concluded play in the 2016 Wellesley Spring Break Invitational on Wednesday afternoon at the par-72 ChampionsGate Golf Club in Orlando, Florida. Hope College captured the team title with a combined score of 632. Carthage College was third at 668 strokes, followed by the Blue with 735 strokes. 

Hope sophomore Megan Klintworth (Jackson, Michigan) maintained her lead following her round one 75 with a day two 78 to capture the individual title.  Klintworth finished with a total score of 153. She was trailed by teammate Nicole Meyer (Brighton, Michigan) in second, as Meyer owned the low score of 76 on day two to finish at 155 strokes, after her day one 79. 

For the Blue, senior Lei Wei (Brentwood, Calif.) finished with a two day total of 172, shooting an 87 following her day one 85. Wei was followed by Amy (Zilin) Jin (Shenzhen, China), as the first year improved two strokes on her day one 92 to finish with a score of 182. Sophomores Maya Muldowney (Waunakee, Wis.) and Kathleena Inchoco (Fairfield, Conn.), finished the weekend with scores of 186 and 195, respectively.

Wellesley returns north to play in the Vassar Invitational in three weekends, April 9-10, at the Casperkill Golf Club in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
