Blue Golf Opens Play at Jack Leaman Invitational in Amherst

AMHERST, Mass. – Wellesley College golf opened weekend play at the annual Jack Leaman Invitational, hosted by Amherst College, on Saturday at the 6,704 yard, par-74, Hickory Ridge Golf Club. 

First year Amy (Zilin) Jin (Shenzhen, China) fired a day one score of 86 (+12) to lead the Blue. Sophomore Maya Muldowney (Waunakee, Wis.) added a day one 93 (+19), while senior Lei Wei (Brentwood, Calif.), pictured, was just one stroke off of Muldowney's pace with an opening round scored of 94 (+20).

Williams College junior Tracey Kim (Irvine, Calif.) and junior Jamie Gracie (Long Beach, Calif.) and first year Kate Weiss (Greenwich, Conn.) of host Amherst are currently tied for first after firing matching opening round scores of 76 (+2). Amherst also leads the team standings with a +21 score of 317.

Action continues tomorrow at Hickory Ridge, with the first tee-times scheduled for 10:32 AM.
